Tennis Squad
Thank you for your interest in our tennis training squad
here at Coops. We can’t help but feel proud of what we have achieved. I
thought I’d fill you in on the career highlights of just a few of our former
squad members.
Pat Rafter, who spent 5
years at Coops in our Queensland School Program , reached a No 1 world ranking
winning two U.S. Open Titles plus representing Australia in the Davis Cup. Pat
is a perfect role model for any potential tennis player and one of the great
ambassadors of Australian tennis.
Another member of
our squad, Peter Tramacchi , won the Birmingham and New York Challengers and was
rewarded with membership into the Davis Cup Squad. Andrew Kratzman was a
finalist in the 2000 Australian Open doubles and a quarter finalist at
Wimbledon.
These
players did not necessarily complete all their tennis training at Coops, but
through our training programs we gave them a great foundation for the future.
They weren’t with us at the end either, because no player is going to walk out
of Coops and win Wimbledon. Many years of travel and tournaments are necessary
before this is possible.
If you decide to come to Coops you will be welcomed.
However, you will be expected to work hard and apply yourself. You will
certainly be given every opportunity to reach the upper limits of your
ability.
